About This Site

Mason County Busted Mugshots is a private reference project about where Illinois booking and arrest records are held. It follows the Sheriff, city police, Circuit Clerk, Illinois Department of Corrections, and federal locator paths. No gallery of faces is hosted here. The goal is to make the correct record custodian easier to identify when a search result is stale, incomplete, or for the wrong state.

Why This Resource Exists

Illinois arrest information can be public without being gathered in one convenient web page. In Mason County, the Sheriff operates the county jail, city departments hold their own incident records, and the Circuit Clerk holds what happens after booking. IDOC answers a state-prison question, while BOP and ICE handle separate federal or immigration custody questions.

This private reference brings those official contacts, statutes, forms, and lookup limits together in plain language. It also points out the absence of a verified public Illinois roster, the lack of a confirmed same-day feed, and the wrong-state detention link that can mislead a search. The project does not store official records or rehost booking photos.

What the Pages Provide

The main pages are arranged around the record a reader is trying to locate:

  • The home page carries the full county booking, records-request, roster, feed, court, state, federal, law, archive, and city path.
  • Sheriff’s Most Wanted explains Mason County’s social and news-based wanted bulletins and the limits of a warrant check.
  • Mugshots in the News maps the Democrat, 25News Now, official social, archive, and one verified historical third-party source.
  • The Havana, Mason City, and Manito pages keep city police records separate from county jail and court records.
  • Illinois FOIA, expungement, state-prison, federal, notification, and archival routes are linked where the research identifies them.

What We Cannot Do

This is not an Illinois government office and has no affiliation with the Mason County Sheriff, Mason County Jail, any city police department, IDOC, or another corrections agency. The operators cannot release or transfer a person, confirm live custody, obtain an official record on demand, or give legal advice.

  • No one here can post bond, arrange a visit, send money, or change a court date.
  • Official offices, not this project, decide whether a record or photo exists and may be released.
  • Phone numbers, fees, hours, forms, and web addresses can change after publication.
  • A booking entry or wanted notice is an accusation or court process, not proof of guilt.

Only the responsible Sheriff, police department, court, corrections agency, or federal office can confirm the current status of its record. Verify before acting on any result.

Search Partners and Referrals

Some search boxes on the site are powered by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, and result quality. If a visitor follows a tool to a paid signup, Mason County Busted Mugshots may receive a referral fee. That possibility helps support the project, but it does not make the partner an official Sheriff, court, or corrections source.
