Mason County Busted Mugshots is a private reference project, not a government office. It cannot confirm live custody, release anyone, post bond, retrieve an official booking file, or change a court record. Contact the responsible agency directly for those answers.
Choose the Records Office
Use the office that created or maintains the record. The Sheriff, a city police department, the Circuit Clerk, IDOC, and federal locators answer different custody or case questions.

The county home page lists courthouse hours as Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Those are courthouse hours, not a promise that jail intake, visitation, or the Sheriff’s records line follows the same schedule. Confirm before visiting.
- For a county booking record, current custody question, or maintained booking photo, contact the Mason County Sheriff.
- For a Havana incident or arrest record, use the Havana FOIA page and its request form.
- For Mason City police records, use the current staff page and ask the Police Department or City Clerk to identify the FOIA officer.
- For Manito records, use the Village FOIA information page, then send the county booking question to the Sheriff.
- For a later case result, start with the Mason County Judici search and contact the Circuit Clerk if the online record is incomplete.
- For a sentenced Illinois state prisoner, use the IDOC offender search, not the county booking path.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP locator or ICE locator, recognizing that neither is a county photo archive.
What to Include in a Request
Give the custodian a full name, approximate date range, arresting agency, location, and case or booking number if known. Ask for existing records, not a new report. Request the booking or incident record, charges as recorded, custody received or released information, and a photograph as a separate item “if maintained and releasable.” Ask for electronic copies, a specific exemption for withheld material, and any segregable portion.
A direct request can also reveal that another agency holds the record, that the person was cited rather than booked, or that a juvenile or investigative exemption applies. The research did not locate a public Mason County booking-photo schedule, so no fixed response time or deletion date should be promised.
